PARTNERSHIP, COLLABORATION AND EMPOWERMENT IN MISSION (PACEM) ETS
Officially established on March 18, 2024, the Foundation Pacem is a response to the growing need for greater support for social and development initiatives that empower individuals, promote active citizenship, and foster social inclusion as had been proposed and approved by the Plenary Council 2022 of the Society of African Missions (SMA).
Located at The SMA Generalate in Via della Nocetta in Rome, The Foundation Pacem is an initiative born out of the collaborative efforts of the Society of African Missions (SMA) members and its many dedicated partners and supporters. The foundation’s mission is deeply rooted in the values of justice, solidarity, and the common good, which are central tenets of the Catholic Church’s social doctrine. It aims to be a beacon of hope and empowerment for those in need, particularly in Africa and other regions.
A Mission Driven by Compassion and Empowerment
The foundation’s name, PACEM, reflects its core values of Partnership, Collaboration, and Empowerment.
The Foundation seeks to advance the following objectives:
· Raise Awareness and Mobilize Support: One of the foundation’s primary goals is to engage benefactors, friends, and supporters by raising awareness about the needs of African populations and the vital work being carried out in Africa. Through advocacy and outreach, the foundation will highlight how these efforts transform lives and communities, encouraging generous support from those who wish to make a difference.
· Promote Social Projects for Development: The Foundation aims to develop and promote social projects focused on socio-economic development, education, health, environmental protection, formation and peace education. These projects will be carefully crafted to address the pressing needs of communities, and the foundation will ensure that these initiatives are presented to potential benefactors for funding and support.
· Accompany and Support Project Implementation: The foundation will not only assist in the development and funding of these projects but will also actively accompany their implementation, both in Africa and in other countries where the SMA operates. The Foundation will ensure that each project receives the oversight, management, and accountability needed to ensure its long-term success and sustainability.
