A significant phase of renovation has been successfully completed at SMA Nivas – House ofPreparatory, located at Gollapallee–Macharam Jadcherla, Mahabubnagar District, Telangana in India. This important project was carried out under the guidance of Rev. Fr. Kodavatikanti Vilsan, SMA, Rector and Superior, marking a major step forward in strengthening the formation facilities of the Society of African Missions (SMA) in India.
Gratitude to the Benefactors
The project was funded by PACEM Foundation. Fr Vilsan expressed gratitude to PACEM Foundation and its donors. This project has greatly enhanced the living and learning environment of the seminarians in their formation, contributing meaningfully to their spiritual and missionary journey.
Solemn Blessing Ceremony
The completed renovation work was solemnly blessed on 19th February 2026 by Most Rev. Karanam Dhaman Kumar and Rev. Fr. IRUDAYASAMY Daniel Dharmu Henry, Provincial Superior of SMA India. The blessing ceremony was attended by several SMA priests, diocesan priests, and religious, making it a moment of thanksgiving and joy for the entire formation community.
Scope of Work Completed
The contractor undertook extensive structural and interior improvements, supplying both materials and labor for the project.
Structural and Civil Works
- Construction of brick masonry walls (approximately 400 sq. m), including new walls for cupboards in the parlor, toilets, and kitchen;
- Installation of vitrified and ceramic tile flooring and wall tiles (approximately 500 sq. m) in the toilets and kitchen;
- Plastering works, plumbing chases, and complete site cleanup.
Interior and Design Enhancements
- Custom woodwork with acrylic finishes in the parlor, kitchen (ground and first floors), and dining hall;
- Glass and aluminum framework installations;
- Electrical and plumbing works, including provision of materials and labor;
- Installation of mirrors in the rooms;
- Fixing of profile lights inside cupboards and closets in the kitchen, parlor, and dining hall.
Painting works further enhanced the beauty of the renovated spaces, including the parlor, both kitchens, dining hall, four rooms on the first floor, and the front corridor. All windows in the renovated areas were carefully polished. In addition, acrylic photo displays with suitable lighting were installed in the parlor and kitchen, enriching the aesthetic appeal of the interiors.
A Renewed Space for Formation
The renovation has significantly improved the functionality, hygiene, and visual appeal of SMA Nivas, creating a more comfortable, dignified, and inspiring environment for the seminarians. The upgraded facilities will greatly support their academic life, community living, and spiritual formation.
